Absolutely Amazing! Just watched the MSO Star Wars performance and it has left me speechless. Definitely a must do in Melbourne!
Last night at Hamer Hall was an exceptionally special evening. To witness Ali MCGregor mesmerise the audience with her humour, candour and outstanding talent, was a truly unforgettable experience
Her back up band was pretty good too!
Great quality orchestra, excellent special guests, nice commentary/ MC work but the ABC Classic staff. A great night out. My only criticism is I was hoping for a couple more big hits to showcase the popular instruments instead of the interesting but obscure pieces that were chosen. They played every piece beautifully though.
Absolutely fantastic experience. Did not expect to see and hear such amazing talent. The choice of pieces was perfect especially Ravel's Balero. Faultless!
I thoroughly enjoyed the performances of all the soloists in last night's Classic 100 concert. The Melbourne symphony orchestra played with such finesse and beauty and then with robust energy when it required it. Bravo maestro.
The presenters and multimedia added an extra flair to the concert.
An engaging and wonderful evening of beautiful music!!
Thankyou
It was an entertaining and educational experience , getting to appreciate music and the different instruments that are played across the world, though it felt a bit rushed and we would have loved some more music added to the program. The presenters for the show (presumably for ABC) did not face the audience, and so it felt a little impersonal.
Firstly, and obviously, the music was amazing. MSO are a special bunch of musical expressionists who have taken the stuffy out of classical performances. No piece outstayed its beauty; the variety engaged everyone - and I am a bit introverted but LOVED the singalong. Thank you, MSO
Was an awesome night with Ali McGregor and the MSO as well as some special guest (and surprise performers for the last song - even got to sit next to one of them!) Even Melbournes weather held back the rain for us. Caught the train which was so easy to just get off at flinders street and cross over the bridge (just a shame there was no 10pm train back like on the schedule) will definitely go again. We usually see the MSO in Geelong so this was a new venue for us
